It was another night of basketball at the S.F. Goedde Building for the Parks Department Men’s Basketball League.

Leland Smith Insurance and Don’s Custom Exhaust tipped off in the early game, with Leland Smith rolling past Don’s easily by a score of 108-45. Leading all scorers was Leland Smith’s Kirk Lichtensteiger, with 30 points, followed closely by teammates Mike Vining and Jon Van Cleave, who scored 29 and 20 points, respectively. Caleb Rank (17 points) and Henry Florence (14 points) were top scorers for Don’s Custom Exhaust.

In the second game of the night, Vorst Paving and Fricker’s battled for the “W” to only end up in a tie at 59 apiece at the regulation buzzer. In the OT, Fricker’s couldn’t hang on, losing a hard fought one 69-61.

Leading scorers for Vorst Paving were Nick Mericle, with 19 points, and Brian Vorst and Matt Slavin with 15 apiece. Fricker’s was led by Kyle Scheidt’s 28 points, while Sean LaFontaine (11 points) and Jacob Strick (10 points) were both in double figures on the night.

Team Dunlap and The Hatfield’s closed the night of round ball, with Team Dunlap outscoring their opponent 67-58 for the win. The Hatfield’s was led by Brett Ryan, who was in a zone by himself with eight treys on the night for a total of 24 points. Jake Sinn added 11 points and Craig Danylchuck 10.  Team Dunlap brought the meaning of “team” to the floor as all players added to the final cause. Brett Hammons was the team’s leading scorer with 15 and Andy Breese added 11 points.
