5 charged for underage drinking party
DELPHOS — A 36-year-old Delphos woman faces a variety of charges stemming from what police are calling an underage drinking party at her residence early Sunday morning.

Andrea S. Stump was charged with three counts of permitting underage alcohol consumption, one for each juvenile that was consuming alcohol underage; three counts of furnishing alcohol to minors; and one count of obstructing official business, for attempting to hinder the police investigation by lying and misleading officers.
According to the investigation, police were called to Stump’s residence in the 900 block of South Clay Street in regards to a possible underage drinking party. Police made contact with Stump, who lived there, and asked her several questions in an attempt to determine if the allegation was true.
At one point, Stump claimed that two underage girls found inside the residence were her daughters, although they were not, in an attempt to protect the girls from charges of underage consumption.
Four teens — a 16-year-old Delphos boy, a 16-year-old Payne boy, a 15-year-old Lima girl and a 15-year-old Delphos girl — were each charged with one count of underage consumption in connection with the investigation. They will appear in their home county’s juvenile court.
Stump will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court on the charges against her.
