Last call on NPAC gift certificates
The Niswonger Performing Arts Center box office will be closed Friday and Monday before and after Christmas and New Year’s Day. So, for that perfect gift for the music lover on your list, you will want to make sure you obtain a NPAC gift certificate by Thursday of this week.
Tickets and gift certificates have been flying out the door recently and some of the more popular upcoming shows for next year are Steel Magnolia for the young Country music fans, Restless Heart for a wonderful Valentine’s night out, Women of Ireland for the Irish music and dance lovers, Fiddler on the Roof for the Broadway fans, Culbertson/Benoit for the jazz fans, and, of course, Clifford, the Big Red Dog has been going fast for all the kids and grandkids. All of this just gets you through the first part of next year, but these shows have all been getting a lot of attention at our box office.
Gift certificates may be purchased for any amount, but if you want to purchase tickets for a certain concert, you will guarantee your gift recipient a seat for that show. I would anticipate a number of these will be selling out quickly as we get into the new year.
If someone is of the inquisitive and informative side, they would certainly enjoy seeing and hearing President George and Laura Bush’s daughter, Jenna Bush Hagar, speak on January 24. A question and answer time will be especially interesting.
We have finished our seven Christmas holiday concerts at the NPAC. David Phelps, The Nutcracker, Kenny G, Ricky Skaggs family, and John Tesh all provided a wide array of musical entertainment to lift your season spirits. I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy some of them.
As I look around our community, I have noticed so many other wonderful Christmas programs and activities. Churches, theatres, boychoir, school and community organizations have all provided so much to brighten our holiday spirits.
I would suggest one more blast by finding a wonderful church service on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day. I see many of them listed in the papers and online. Many incorporate beautiful music with some outstanding local musicians. Although Christmas is on a Sunday and makes it difficult to fit into our normal Christmas Day schedules; what day could be better than a Sunday to celebrate Jesus’ birth?
I trust you have a most blessed Christmas this Sunday. From all of us at The Van Wert County Foundation and the NPAC, “We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”
FINÉ.
