Dorothy M. Thatcher Mihm

Dorothy M. (Caywood) Thatcher Mihm, 89, of Rockford, died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, December 25, 2011, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

She was born January 23, 1922, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of Delmar and Jessie (Huffman) Caywood. On June 28, 1941, she married Robert Harold Thatcher, who preceded her in death on February 16, 1978. She then married Robert William Mihm on October 3, 1986, and he preceded her in death on October 31, 1999.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Donald) Stose of Clayton and Gloria Fisher of Rockford; a sister, Betty Kuhn of Rockford; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Thatcher of Willshire.

A son, Rex Lee Thatcher; one brother, Lowell Caywood; a son-in-law, Donald W. Fisher; two sisters, Frances Williams and Mary Catherine Caywood; and two brothers-in-law, James Williams and Frank Kuhn, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Steve Waterman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
