Waltraud McMichael

Waltraud McMichael, 68, of Van Wert, died at 9:58 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born April 16, 1943, in Karlsruhe, Germany, the daughter of the late Albert Debatin and Maria Ohl. On July 10, 1969, she married Lloyd L. McMichael, who preceded her in death on April 18, 2011.

Survivors include five children, Lloyd (Tonda) McMichael, Frank L. McMichael, Sterling K. McMichael and Robert R. (Dana) Debatin, all of Van Wert, and Sandra B. (Larry) Parker of Convoy; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A sister, Maria Debatin, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 2, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Chris Reno officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, January 1, at the funeral home.
