VW boys win, girls lose dual swim meet

WAPAKONETA — The Van Wert High School boys and girls swim teams traveled to the Wapakoneta YMCA to compete with Lima Central Catholic and Wapakoneta. This meet was scored as a double dual. The Cougar boys defeated Wapakoneta 74-73 and LCC 90-39.  The Cougar girls were defeated by both Wapakoneta 72-78 and LCC 57-99.

Van Wert swimmers placing first overall were Eric Easley in the 200- yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke and Kase Schalois in the 200-yard freestyle.

The team will travel next to Putnam County YMCA on Tuesday to compete with OG and St. Marys.
