Paul L. Edwards

Paul L. Edwards, 66, of Van Wert, died at 7:13 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born in Kansas City, Mo., the son of the late William David and Pauline Amanda (Wade) Edwards. On July 20, 1985, he married Linda L. (Metzger) Edwards, who survives in Van Wert.

Paul had a great love of sports, especially the Buckeyes and Reds. He loved doing things with his grandchildren. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War period.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Julie A. (Fred) Kiesewetter of Piqua; a stepdaughter, Angela M. (Dave) Ireton of Van Wert; one brother, Otis Edwards of Elida; a sister, Betty L. Feliciano of Celina; an uncle, Guy (Marge) Wade of California; and three grandchildren, Paige and Anna Kiesewetter of Piqua and Logan Friesner of Van Wert.

Three brothers, Lowell, Jon Dean and Blaine Edwards, and a sister, Jayne Edwards, who died in infancy, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 14, at Liberty Baptist Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Jim Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 13, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.

Preferred memorials: St. Jude Hospital.
