Leadership Class to host YWCA fundraiser
A “Money for Gold” event will be held this Saturday, January 14, to benefit the YWCA’s Summer Food Program. The event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the YWCA, is a fundraiser organized by the Leadership Class of Van Wert County, with help from Laudick’s Jewelry.

The public is encouraged to bring unwanted, scrap or unused gold such as broken jewelry, kinked chains, single earrings, old rings, or dental gold to be sold. Laudick’s Jewelry will test and weigh the gold and issue checks to those wanting to sell their items.
The YWCA Summer Food Program provides nutritious meals and recreational activities for local children throughout the summer break from school. This year’s Leadership Class, sponsored by the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce, looks forward to raising funds to support the efforts of the YWCA while giving the Van Wert community an opportunity to sell broken or unwanted gold items to a trusted local jeweler.
Light refreshments will be available during the event for those participating. Sellers must be 18 years or older and provide a valid driver’s license or state identification at the event.
