Snow swirls all around the downtown area in Van Wert on Thursday night as a storm brought snow and high winds to the area overnight and into today. Scattered snow showers are expected to increase in intensity overnight and continue through today. Accumulations of 2-4 inches of snow are expected, with winds of 15-30 mph, and higher gusts, causing blowing and drifting snow in rural areas. Hazardous travel conditions are expected on area roads, largely because of poor visibility caused by the blowing snow. (Dave Mosier/Van Wert independent)
