David A. Goodwin

David A. Goodwin, 75, formerly of Payne, died Friday, January 20, 2012, at Doctors Hospital West in Columbus.

He was born October 2, 1936, in North Fairfield, the son of the late Carl R. and Gladys (Foulke) Goodwin. On January 3, 1960, he married Caroline (Gray) Goodwin, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Michael (Dawn) Goodwin of Paulding and Samuel Goodwin of Payne; a daughter, Sharon (Carl Reynolds) Thatcher of Hilliard; one brother, Carl (Nancy) Goodwin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Penny (Dave) Kurtz of Willoughby and Sue (Paul) Nixon of Chesterland; and four grandchildren.

A granddaughter, Ashley Marie Goodwin, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Paulding, with graveside military rites performed.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of donor’s choice.
