YMCA offering new sport: Pickle ball

Looking for a new activity to play? Look no further, pickle ball is here!  Don’t know what pickle ball is?  Pickle ball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis.

The YMCA of Van Wert County is now offering free, open pickle ball sessions to teach individuals how to the play the game.  All are welcome, members and potential members, at no cost.

These free scheduled sessions will be held at the Y in Gym 4 on the following days: Friday, January 27; Thursday, February 2; and Friday, February 3, all at 10 a.m.

“This is a fun, easy to pick up game that we are excited to be able to offer our community,” stated YM Program Director Mitch Price. “It’s a great workout and those of us who have been playing have really enjoyed the friendly competition.”
