Marlins do well against Wapakoneta team

The YMCA Marlins hosted Wapakoneta at the VW YMCA on January 21. Finishing first in all of their events were Katie McVaigh (5), Sam Easley (5) and Evan Stant (4). Emma Pollock and Jamie Burenga dominated the Girls 8 & Under group by finishing first or second in every event. Burenga finished with four firsts and Pollock with three.

Also taking first place were Daniel Miller (1), Risa Pollock (1), Andrew Henkaline (4), Addison Henkaline (3) and Aaron Stant (1).

Van Wert results (all distances are meters)

• 8 & Under Girls: Emma Pollock – 1^st 100 IM, 25 Fly and 400 Freestyle; 2^nd 25 Freestyle and 25 Breaststroke.  Jaime Burenga – 1^st 25 Freestyle, 50 Freestyle, 25 Backstroke and 25 Breaststroke; 2^nd 25 Fly.
• 8 & Under Boys: Daniel Miller – 1^st 25 Freestyle, 25 Back, 25 Breaststroke; 2^nd 25 Fly.  Luke Miller – 7^th 25 Freestyle and 6^th 50 Freestyle.
• 10 & Under Girls: Risa Pollock – 1^st 50 Breaststroke; 2^nd 50 Freestyle and 50 Back.  Katie McVaigh – 1^st in 200 Freestyle, 100 IM, 50 Freestyle, 50 Fly and 50 Back.  Noelle Heffner – 2^nd 100 IM and 50 Fly; 3^rd 50 Backstroke and 4^th 50 Freestyle.
• 10 & Under Boys: Andrew Henkaline – 1^st 200 Freestyle, 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle and 50 Back; 2^nd 50 Fly.
• 11-12 Girls: Addison Henkaline – 1^st 100 IM, 50 Back, 50 Breaststroke; 2^nd 50 Freestyle and 50 Fly.  Erin Miller – 2^nd 100 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke and 50 Breaststroke; 3^rd 50 Freestyle.
• 11-12 Boys: Sam Easley – 1^st 200 Freestyle, 50 Freestyle, 50 Fly, 100 Freestyle and 50 Back.  Aaron Stant – 1^st 400 Freestyle; 2^nd 50 Fly; 4^th 50 Freestyle; 5^th 50 Backstroke and 7^th 200 Freestyle.
• 13-14 Girls: Bethany Fast –.2^nd 100 Breaststroke; 3^rd 200 Freestyle, 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle and 100 Back.
