VW fair gets award

Ohio Department of Agriculture Interim Director Tony M. Forshey, DVM, presented a certificate of recognition to the Van Wert County Agricultural Society for the completion of an outstanding 2011 fair season. Brad Taylor, Fair Board vice president, accepted the certificate on behalf of the board. The presentation was made during the annual meeting of Ohio’s 94 agricultural societies at the Ohio Fair Managers Association convention. Fair board delegates from Ohio’s county and independent fairs, as well as the Ohio State Fair, participated in the convention, held in Columbus. (photo submitted)
