Mae (Voltz) Neate

Mae (Voltz) Neate, 96, of Portage, died Friday evening, February 17, 2012, at her residence.

She was born September 26, 1915, in Willshire Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Charles Lewis and Mary Anna (Jones) Voltz. She married Ralph Franklin Neate, who preceded her in death on September 12, 1980.

Survivors include a son, Charles W. (Rita) Neate of Delta; three daughters, Elaine (Raymond) Hillard of Portage, Barbara (Burt) Miller of Columbia, Mo., and Sue (Alan) Tyson of Jerry City; a brother, Ivan Voltz of Ohio City; two sisters, Maryhelen (Lowell) Barnes of Pendleton, Ind., and Winifred Frey of Willshire; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Robert, who died in 1945, and John Louis, who died in 1974; three brothers, Carl, Fred and Alfred C. Voltz; and three sisters, Alice Etter, LoAnn Baxter and Amy Elizabeth Cox Hulls, also preceded her in death.

Private funeral services will be conducted at a later date.

There will be no calling hours at this time.
