Arnold E. Miller

Arnold E. Miller, 88, of Landeck, died at 12:12 a.m. Sunday, February 19, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

He was born December 24, 1923, in Landeck, the son of the late Peter and Anna (Heitz) Miller. On August 6, 1949, he married Calista (Eickholt) Miller, who survives in Landeck.

Other survivors include six children, James E. (Martha) Miller, Jerald (Mary Jo) Miller, Kenneth (Kathy) Miller and Glen Miller, all of Landeck, Judy (Frank) Eickholt of Ottoville and Andrew (Kay) Miller of Delphos; two sisters, Mary Maag of Pandora and Rose Pohlman of Delphos; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Five brothers, Clarence, Alfred, Herman, Leo and Joe Miller; two sisters, Lillian Ellerbrock and Lucille Oberg; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Mack, also preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck, with Fathers Melvin Verhoff and Jacob Gordon officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Landeck, with graveside military rites performed by the Ottoville Veterans Council.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Monday, February 20, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.
