Leroy Melvin Fickert

Leroy Melvin Fickert, 77, of Ohio City, died at 8:19 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 26, 1934, in Mercer County, the son of the late Raymond Melvin and Arberdeen Frances (Snyder) Fickert. He married Naomi (Radabaugh) Fickert, who survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Mike (Shawn) Fickert of Middle Point and Robert R. Schriver and Ronald L. (Tonya) Schriver, both of Van Wert; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Two sisters, Wilma Jean Feasel and Betty Lee Roe, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 25, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 3-8 p.m. Friday, February 24, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
