Mary H. Evans

Mary H. Evans, 73, of Van Wert, died at 6:50 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born July 23, 1938, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Dale and Goldie (Zinn) Duncan.

Survivors include four children, Douglas Evans, Debra (Thad) Lichtensteiger and Linda Myers, all of Van Wert, and Angela Evans of Toledo; a brother, William (Karen) Duncan of Van Wert; two brothers-in-law, Paul Reed of Texas and Bernard Waltz of Van Wert; one sister, Eleanor (Dean) McOmber of Van Wert; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Beth Bissonette; and three sisters, LaVonne Carrier, LaVerne Reed and Velma Waltz, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, February 27, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, the Revs. Paul W. Miller and Ronald Lumm officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

Calling hours are from 3:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday, February 26, and an hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Donations can be made to the family to be given to a charitable cause in Mary’s name.
