Off Stage seeks new members, patrons

As Off Stage Productions Inc. of Van Wert prepares for its spring production, Ripe Conditions, with performances to begin April 20, the all-volunteer staff would like to invite the public to purchase Off Stage Production memberships.

Those purchasing a membership are entitled to ownership of Off Stage Productions, a vote on who is on the board of trustees and, perhaps most important, the opportunity to call two days early for reservations before the general public for a live dinner theatre production. Memberships cost $5.

Membership funds benefit OSP by helping offset expenses incurred for posters, mailers and advertising to promote the theatre group’s two dinner theatre productions each season: one in the fall and one in the spring. There are generally five performances per show.

During December, a special one-hour Christmas program is performed in The Marsh Foundation Auditorium.

Organized as a not-for-profit organization since 2003, Off Stage Productions has grown over the years and now has more than 50 members and over 600 names in more than 80 zip codes on its mailing list.

In addition to membership, sponsorship is another way the public can help Off Stage Productions. Sponsorships make it possible for the organization to provide unique dinner theatre experiences to the local community and beyond. Through the generosity of members and patrons, chairs and tables have been purchased, stage lights and sound equipment furnished and curtains bought to make the audience area more inviting.

Current sponsorships will specifically help to purchase a computer to run sound for OSP shows, more curtains and stands and additional light and sound equipment. While material in nature, these purchases will ultimately make the dinner theatre experience a richer and more viable event for all who attend future productions.

Each gift, whether large or small, is essential to the continued success of Off Stage Productions. Support is appreciated and is recognized on production programs and promotional materials. Because Off Stage is a non-profit organization, all contributions are tax-deductible.
