VWMS science fair

The Van Wert Middle School sixth grade gifted science class, taught by Michelle Turnwald, recently held a science fair in the commons area. All 19 entries were spectacular; however, Camryn Nouza took first place for “Can You Tell the Difference?” Second place winner was Austin Voors (above), with “A-Maze-ing Coco”. The science fair was a great way to get kids actively involved in answering a research question that matches their interest. By following the scientific method, students learned to think like a scientist by having the opportunity to perform research, and get practice in writing a formal report and speaking in public.
