Jerry Thompson

Jerry Thompson, 70, of Grover Hill, died at 2:55 a.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo.

He was born July 11, 1941, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Mahlon E. and Antha Rose (McClure) Thompson. On December 8, 1962, he married Vivian (Veach) Thompson, who survives in Grover Hill.

Other survivors include three children, Holly (Dan) Edwards and Missy (Chris) Williams, both of Grover Hill, and Darren (Dodi) Thompson of Defiance; three brothers, Vic (Ellen) Thompson of Sun City, Fla., and George (Sue) Noggle and Eddie (Ruth) Noggle, both of Van Wert; three sisters, Scheryl Reidenbach of Lima, Shelbyan (Larry) Tribolet of Middle Point and Gayle Noggle of Van Wert; and eight grandchildren.

His stepmother, Helen (Sink) Thompson; and a brother, Randy Thompson, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Revs. Paul W. Miller and Mark McKay officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery in Grover Hill.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 29, at the funeral home.
