Cougs, Knights lose tourney games

The Van Wert and Crestview girls lost tournament games on Saturday to eliminate two Van Wert County girls’ basketball teams from tournament contention. The Lady Cougars lost to the Bryan Lady Bears 45-42 in the Division II sectional championship game at Hicksville, while the Lady Knights were beaten by Delphos Jefferson 26-15 in the Division IV game at Van Wert High School. The Spencerville Lady Bearcats defeated Delphos St. John’s 42-39 in the other Division IV sectional championship game played in the Cougar’s Den.
