VW Marlins win Putnam County dual meet

OTTAWA — The Van Wert Marlins Traveled to Ottawa on Saturday for a dual meet against the Putnam County YMCA.  The Marlins did an outstanding job in their last regular season meet prior to sectionals next week.

Sweeping first place in all of their individual events were Daniel Miller (5), Katie McVaigh (4), Addison Henkaline (5) and Sam Easley (5). Easley has also qualified for four individual events at the Great Lakes YMCA Regionals (Zones) at Canton Ohio.  Also bringing home a first place finish at Ottawa were Emma Pollock (4), Risa Pollock (2), Noelle Heffner (1), Andrew Henkaline (2), Evan Stant (1) and Matt Cucciarre (3).

Next week the Marlins travel to Defiance for the Northwest Ohio Sectionals.

8 & Under Girls: Emma Pollock – 1^st 100 IM, 25 Butterfly, 50 Freestyle and 25 Breaststroke; 2^nd 25 Freestyle.  Jamie Burenga – 2^nd 25 Butterfly, 25 Backstroke, 25 Breaststroke; 3^rd 50 Freestyle.

8 & Under Boys: Daniel Miller – 1^st 25 Freestyle, 100 IM, 50 Freestyle, 25 Backstroke and 25 Breaststroke.  Luke Miller – 2^nd 25 Freestyle, 50 Freestyle and 25 Backstroke.

10 & Under Girls: Risa Pollock – 1^st 200 Freestyle and 50 Breaststroke; 2^nd 100 IM, 50 Freestylestyle; 4^th 50 Backstroke.  Katie McVaigh – 1^st 50 Freestyle, 100 IM, 50 Butterfly and 50 Backstroke. Noelle Heffner – 1^st 100 Freestyle; 2^nd 50 Backstroke; 3^rd 50 Freestyle and 50 Breaststroke.

10 & Under Boys: Andrew Henkaline – 1^st 100 Freestyle and 50 Backstroke; 3^rd 200 Freestyle, 50 Freestyle and 50 Butterfly.

11-12 Girls: Addison Henkaline – 1^st 100 IM, 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke and 50 Breaststroke.  Erin Miller – 2^nd 100 IM; 4^th 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 50 Breaststroke; 5^th 50 Backstroke.

11-12 Boys: Aaron Stant – 1^st 500 Freestyle; 2^nd 200 Freestyle, 50 Freestyle, 50 Butterfly and 50 Backstroke.  Sam Easley – 1^st 200 Freestyle, 50 Freestyle, 50 Butterfly, 100 Freestyle and 50 Backstroke.

13-14 Girls: Bethany Fast – 3^rd 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke; 5^th 100 Breaststroke and 50 Freestyle; 6^th 100 Freestyle.

15 & Over Boys: Evan Stant – 1^st 100 Butterfly; 2^nd 200 Freestyle and 200 Freestyle; 3^rd 50 Freestyle; 4^th 100 Backstroke.  Matt Cucciarre – 1^st 200 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke; 2^nd 200 IM.
