Clarice Joanne Highwarden

Clarice Joanne Highwarden, 76, of Paulding, died Friday, February 24, 2012, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born June 27, 1935, in Payne, the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Kerns) Hook. On September 27, 1956, she married Donald “Ducky” Highwarden, who preceded her in death on April 20, 2002.

Survivors include three sons, Charles (Darla) Highwarden of Ayersville and Donald (Gloria) Highwarden and Michael Highward, both of Paulding; three daughters, Joni Hernandez and Denise (Mike) Friese, both of Paulding, and Nicole (Miguel) Cruz of Defiance; two brothers, Tom Hook of Payne and Al Hook of Antwerp; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Donna; a sister, Dorita Lynch; an infant brother and one grandson also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, with Pastor Phyllis Baxter officiating. Burial will be in Paulding Memorial Cemetery.

Calling hours are an hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
