Lincoln Highway Assoc. seeking cells
Unclutter closets or junk drawers and help a great cause. The Ohio Lincoln Highway Byway organization has found a “green” way to not only save the planet, but to bring a little more “green” into their coffers.
By bringing old cell phones and accessories to the designated drop-off point, those otherwise useless cell phones will be a gift to a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to promote economic development through showcasing the history of America’s first coast-to-coast road.
This non-profit group not only promotes the history of the road through Ohio, but also organizes the BUY-WAY Yard Sale that will happen for its eighth year this August 9-11.
Working cell phones will be re-programmed for needy shelters and other organizations, while old non-working phones and batteries, transformers, car chargers, etc., will also be cashed in to help defray operating costs to the byway.
Area residents may drop off old cell phones and accessories at the Van Wert Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, 136 E. Main St., between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. More information about the BUY-WAY is available at www.historicby-way.com or calling 419.238.9378.
