Sister-to-Sister Summit this Saturday

Girls in grades 6-8 are reminded of the American Association of University Women’s Sister-to-Sister Leadership Summit, to be held Saturday, March 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the YWCA. This year’s theme is “Life is a Balancing Act — Tips for Bringing Harmony into Your Lives.”

Speakers for the event are Kim Keeling, leadership training consultant for the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce; Megan Ramey and Katie Etgen from the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio; Holly Vaughn, certified Zumba instructor for the YWCA and YMCA; Nancy Bowen, former Van Wert County Economic Development director; Carol Trice, OSU Extension education specialist; Lindsay Hotmire, a former educator who is now a website developer; Van Wert County Council on Aging Executive Director Cindy Wood; and Dawn Cooper, owner and artisan of Rehab Fab in Van Wert.

Topics range from developing and recognizing leadership potential, to healthy nutrition, to volunteerism, to budgeting time wisely.

The hands-on event, with lunch, breakfast bars, goodie bags, door prizes and materials, is free to participants.  Packets for registration can be picked up in all of the school offices.
