Carl David Stemen

Carl David Stemen, 60, of Van Wert, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at his residence.

He was born April 9, 1951, in Van Wert, the son of the late Harold Doyle Stemen and Martha (Easterling) Garretson.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Clarkson and Lisa (Scott) Schnipke, both of Delphos; three sons, Randy (Janelle) Stemen of Elida and Dustin Stemen and Travis Stemen, both of California; four brothers, Chris Stemen and Jaime Stemen, both of Ohio City, and Mark Stemen and Rob Stemen, both of Van Wert; a sister, Tracie Vincent of Willshire; and 11 grandchildren.

A son, David Todd Stemen; and one sister, Holly Semer, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 9, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at the funeral home.
