Phyllis Thomas
Phyllis Thomas, 85, of Van Wert, died at 6:32 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born July 15, 1926, in Anston in Yorkshire, England, the daughter of the late Gilbert David and Constance Mary (Crampton) Hargreave. She married Harry M. Thomas Jr. on March 15, 1947, and he preceded her in death on September 8, 2010.
Mrs. Thomas had been an employee of the Keypost Inn, Van Wert Overall Manufacturing Company and British Rail. She also belonged to Transatlantic Brides Association and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178 in Van Wert.
Survivors include a son, Hugh David (Mary) Thomas of Hamilton; two daughters, Carol Lynn Thomas of Lima and Julie Thomas of Van Wert; a brother, Terence Hargreave of Van Wert; and two grandchildren, Eric David (Julie) Thomas of Monroe and Megan Lindsay Thomas of Baton Rouge, La.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Josh Tissot officiating.
Calling hours are from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials: Brumback Library in Van Wert.
