Camera Club presents program on waterfalls

The Wassenberg Camera Club will meet Thursday, March 22, at 7 p.m. at the Wassenberg Art Center inVan Wert.  The public may find this meeting to be of special interest because their photography questions will be answered as well as area waterfalls will be discussed.

Club member Tracy Sterling of Van Wert will take his audience on a tour of 5 waterfalls located near Covingrton, Ludlow Falls, West Milton, Charleston Falls Preserve, and Clifton. Tracy will show pictures he’s taken of the falls, provide detailed information how to get to each location, and tell what to see at each place. His commentary will also provide information about how he photographed each of the falls or cascades.

As previously mentioned, Helen Jewett of Van Wert donated a large amount of photography equipment that had belonged to her husband, Hal. Cameras included a Kodak Retina II c, built from 1955-1958,  a Minolta XG-7, built from 1977-1984, a Voigtlander Bessa I, built in 1953, and a KeyStone K-38 Olympic 8 turret movie camera built around 1953. Accessories for the cameras included: a flash unit, mini tripod, 3 lenses, filters, a 2x tele converter, 3 cable releases, a step down ring and a T-mount.

Bob & Sue Gates added a Kodak Vigilant Junior six-20 camera which was built between 1939 and 1949 to their donation list.

The Wassenberg Camera Club Discount Cards continue to be on sale from any club member and the Art Center for $5. There are 13 businesses in Van Wert, 2 each in Delphos and Celina, and one each in Ohio City, Lima, and Wapakoneta that are participating till April 1 of 2013.
