D. Wayne Kline

D. Wayne Kline, 89, of Rockford, died at 3:21 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born March 3, 1923, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Henry J. and Elsie (Sutton) Kline. On June 29, 1946, at Walnut Grove Church in Ohio City, he married Lillian G. Kline, who preceded him in death on February 1, 2012.

Survivors include two sons, Ron (Cheryl) Kline of St. Marys and Keith (Karen) Kline of Ohio City; two daughters, Barb Baker of Rockford and Connie (Michael) Ainsworth of Ohio City; 11 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren.

A son-in-law, Bob Baker; two brothers, Harold and William Kline; and five sisters, Charlotte Coffman, Paulding Spieth, Doris Stonehill, Irene Snyder, and Joan Konkle, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 26, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Steven G. Waterman and the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, with graveside military rites performed by American Legion Post 346 in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at the funeral home.
