Getting Started: Venedocia Lads & Lassies

The Venedocia 4-H Club had a meeting on March 22, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the Venedocia Lions Club facility. Pledges were led by Whitney Welker. Roll Call was taken by Adam Rager, and the Roll Call question was “What is your favorite 4-H project?”

Committee Reports included those from Jr. Fair Board, the Camp Counselors, and Fashion Board. Katie Vorst, member of the Jr. Fair Board, said that the theme this year would be the Wild, Wild West. Morgan Pugh, a camp counselor, informed the 4-Hers that the 4-H Camp theme would be the Olympics and that both Allen and Van Wert County will be attending camp the same week. Julia Dickman, member of the Fashion Board, said that they constructed blankets for their community service project.

Unfinished Business for the meeting included: Chicken BBQ ticket sales, the trash pick-up community service project, and Quality Assurance. New Business that was discussed was the upcoming Swine Clinic, Judging dates (July 18 and August 16), Officer Training, (April 19, 7-8:30 p.m.) and Cooper Turkey pick-up dates. This meeting did not include any Advisor Reports or Demonstrations, but Advisor Irene Luersman stressed the importance of attending Quality Assurance.

There were a total of 25 members present and the date for the next meeting is set for April 26 at 7 p.m. at the Venedocia Lions Club facility.
