Knights in Spring Swing!

With the nine weeks coming to a close, teachers are hustling to get final grades in and students are striving to make those grades good ones. But with the start of both softball, baseball, and track, balancing studying and practices can be difficult. The softball team started their season strong with a double win in a tri last Saturday. Softball girls are in Kentucky for the rare privilege of participating in a tournament over the weekend. Senior softball duo Taylor Hamrick and Taylor Springer are excited to test their skills. “This should be a great test on just how good, and how far our girls can go this year” says Hamrick. “I’m just glad we get the chance to get better and get to travel a little bit in the process. It should be fun,” says Springer.

Track girls went to Versailles to open up their season with Paige Michael placing third in the high jump and Erika Frey placing second and first in the 200m and 100m hurdles respectively. Tracksters are resuming to work hard as they have meets to focus on in the near future. Knights baseball had its season opener Wednesday with St. Johns with another game the day after.

Mrs. Hancock’s days will be less hectic now that the annual Dinner Theater, which took place last Friday and Saturday is out of her mind. The 70’s themed “Knight Fever” was a big success with sell-outs both nights. “I’m very please at the way this year’s Dinner Theater went. All of our performers rehearsed and worked very hard, and it was very evident during the show. I have received a lot of compliments,” she said.

Mr. Langdon and the Scholastic Bowl team earned first place at the Wright State Tournament. This win gave them their fourth qualification for regionals after beating 40 teams at the Lake Campus. “I’m very proud of the way the ‘Lean Mean Thinking Machine’ represent themselves at the competitions we participate in. I am not surprised at our performance though, we have a smart group of kids and I believe we could go far,” said Mr. Langdon.

Obviously excellence remains a tradition at Crestview!
