Lincolnview 9 defeats Fort Recovery

FORT RECOVERY — The Lincolnview Lancer baseball team downed Fort Recovery 9-6 in a non-conference game played Tuesday evening at Fort Recovery.

The Lancers scored a run in the first inning and led 2-0 in the third before Fort Recovery broke through with four runs in the bottom of the third to take 4-2 lead. The Indian lead lasted just half an inning, as Lincolnview added five more runs in the top of the fourth to go back up 7-4.

Fort Recovery made it close for an inning as the Indians added two more runs to trail by one, 7-6, in the bottom of the fifth, but the Lancers again responded with two runs in the top of the sixth for the final 9-6 score.

Connor McCleery had five RBI in the game for Lincolnview to lead the Lancer offense. Niese, Klausing, Patterson and D. Schmersal also batted in runs in the game.

Eli Farmer was the winning pitcher for Lincolnview, striking out three and giving up two walks in the game. Kyle Williams earned a save for the Lancers, striking out two and also giving up two walks.

Lincolnview is now 1-0 on the year, while Fort Recovery falls to 0-2 on the season.
