OSU Extension seeks 4-H summer intern

Applications are now being accepted at the Van Wert County Extension office for a 2012 4-H summer intern. The OSU Extension 4-H Intern will be required to work closely with the Extension 4-H program coordinator, office associate, 4-H Council, club advisors and teen volunteers helping to organize and conduct a wide range of 4-H program activities. These activities include but are not limited to 4-H Camp, Junior Fair projects, project judging and interviews, clover bud camps and other educational activities conducted by the program.

Those seeking this rewarding position must be willing to commit to flexible work hours to cover required 4-H activities, many of which take place in the evenings and on weekends. Other skills needed for the applicant to be successful in this position are strong communication and people skills, to be able to relate to a diverse audience of adults, teens and younger youth; good organizational skills, to be able to work on multiple projects at the same time and meet various deadlines; strong leadership abilities; self-motivation and a strong work ethic; and creativity to bring new ideas to 4-H activities.

First priority will be given to Van Wert County college level students or high school graduates who possess 4-H experience.
