Crime Stoppers 3/30/12

Crime Stoppers will pay you cash for information if it will help the Van County Sheriff’s Department solve an incident of burglary that occurred in the county.

On Sunday March 18, at 2:25 a.m., the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department received a call reporting a residential burglary had just occurred at a residence located at 12734 Dog Creek Road in Ridge Township. Daniel Hemker was bound to a chair by the intruders and subsequently received a stab wound.

Mr. Hemker was then freed from the chair and rebound by the intruders, who placed him in the back seat of his Honda Accord. The car was then driven to the Middle Point Quarry, and the victim’s car, with the victim in the back seat, was driven into the water. The vehicle came to rest on its top, with the rear window shattering, and Mr. Hemker freed himself from the vehicle.

The suspects’ descriptions are:

1. White male 6-1, 180-190 pounds, mid-20s age.

2. White male 5-7 5-08, 240-250 pounds, mid-20s age

Both suspects wearing blue jeans and black sweat shirts

3. Suspect vehicle is a dark colored mid- to late 1990s Ford Ranger extended cab with a short bed.
