Renaissance rewards

The Van Wert Middle School Renaissance Program recently rewarded sixth-, seventh, and eighth graders who earned a Renaissance card for the second trimester of the school year. Students who earned a Gold or Red card were given time out of school to bowl at Olympic Lanes. The gray card students were given time out of class to participate in activities such as Bingo, dodge ball, popcorn, prizes, and a movie.  In order to earn a Renaissance card, students must meet specific criteria regarding academics, attendance and attitude.  The Renaissance Program is a partnership between the school and Van Wert area businesses that support the students with financial contributions or by offering discounts in their businesses. Approximately 50 area businesses currently support the Van Wert Middle School Renaissance Program.
