Van Wert Arts Factory has new artworks

The Van Wert Arts Factory, 136 E. Main St. in Van Wert, has a number of new artworks available for sale, and has added felted purses, handmade jewelry, and other items to the inventory.

“Everyone is invited to come in and check out all this great new work,” says Tomi Jaycox, Promotions Committee chair for Main Street Van Wert.

Among the new offerings are stylish felted purses by Denise Blackburn, “Hideous Dolls” by Jaycox, miniature paintings by Pat Rayman and Janet Ravas, paintings by Kay Sluterbeck, Sally Geething and Penny Wiseman, pottery by Anna Fisher and Tom Emerine, glass art by Erin McMillen and Katie Bueher Allison, jewelry by Janis Sweet Hoye, and much more, including knitted items, tote bags, and metalwork.

“The Arts Factory is two things in one — a little art gallery and a great place to buy gifts and items for your home,” Jaycox noted. “From notecards and pillows to fine art, it’s all there.”

Because volunteers host the Arts Factory, hours are irregular; however, Jaycox noted that there is usually someone available to help on Monday and Tuesday mornings and Friday afternoons from 2-4 p.m.

“Just look for the ‘open’ signs and the little lights in the windows,” she said.

The Van Wert Arts Factory is an initiative of Main Street Van Wert designed to promote and encourage art entrepreneurship and to stimulate growth and development in historic downtown Van Wert.  For more information, call 419.238.6911 or email vwdowntown@embarqmail.com.
