Extension-Master Gardeners set plant sale

The annual Ohio State University Extension-Van Wert County Master Gardener Volunteer Plant Sale will be held Saturday, April 28, opening at 8 a.m. and continuing until sold out. The plant sale will be held in the Junior Fair Building on the fairgrounds.

Not only is the plant sale being held on April 28, the Ultimate Garage Sale will also be featured in many of the buildings on the fairgrounds that day, so come out and check out the garage sales and also purchase plants for lawn or garden.

Proceeds from the sale of plants will benefit the OSU Extension-Van Wert County Master Gardener volunteers’ projects, such as the Garden for the Senses, Smiley Park Children’s Garden, and their continuing educational activities.

The plant sale will feature potted herbs, both culinary and aromatic, plus a variety of colorful perennials have been selected for the sale. A new item for this year is the availability of pre-grouped plantings, such as a combination of culinary herb plants with a recipe attached to make a delicious dish using the herbs selected. A combination of perennials for a butterfly planting will also be offered. So mark those calendars and be sure to attend this exciting annual event.
