Hicksville downs Lancers in baseball
HICKSVILLE — The Lincolnview Lancer baseball team lost 9-6 to Hicksville in non-conference action on Monday.
The Lancers scored first in the top of the second inning, but the Aces added a run in the bottom of the inning to tie it up at 1 run apiece.
Hicksville exploded for five runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 6-1 lead, and the Lancers scored two runs in the top of the fourth to trail by three, 6-3.
Lincolnview tied the game at 6-all with three more runs in the top of the fifth inning, but the Aces added a run in their half of the inning for a 7-6 lead and scored two more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth for the final score.
The Lancers had 12 hits in the game, versus 16 for Hicksville, while both teams had two errors.
Dalton Kayser had three RBI for Lincolnview, while Nick Leeth and Mike Klausing also had runs batted in. Leeth, Kyle Williams, Brady Niese and Klausing had doubles in the game.
Tyler Lovett went the distance for the Lancers and is now 0-1 on the year. Lincolnview is now 2-4 on the year, while Hicksville evens its record at 3-3.
