Lancers lose to Ayersville in baseball

The Lincolnview baseball team fell 8-4 to Ayersville in a non-conference game played Tuesday at Lincolnview.

The Lancers drew first blood with a run in the bottom of the first inning and lead for three innings until the Archers tied it up in the top of the fourth inning.

Ayersville broke the game open in the sixth inning with seven runs, while the Lancers added two runs in the bottom of the sixth to trail 8-3. Lincolnview scored twice in the seventh, but that was it.

The Lancers had 10 runs and four errors in the game, while Ayersville had six hits and two errors.

Lancer Kyle Williams had three hits in the game, while Tyler Lovett had two hits for Lincolnview, including a double and two RBI.

Nick Leeth took the loss for the Lancers, who are now 2-5 on the year. Ayersville runs its record to 3-2.
