Patrol investigating 2-car injury crash

The Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating an injury crash that occurred at approximately 11:50 a.m. Tuesday.

The two-vehicle crash occurred on Ohio 116 at the intersection of Jennings Road southeast of Van Wert. John Ruddock, 79, of Van Wert, was driving a 2002 Ford station wagon and Dorothy Gleckler, 79, also of Van Wert, was driving a 2008 Dodge four door. The vehicles collided at the intersection.

Both drivers were transported to Van Wert County Hospital by Middle Point EMS. Both vehicles also sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.

Assisting at the scene were the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department and Middle Point Fire and EMS.

The crash remains under investigation.
