Wanda F. Hurless

Wanda F. Hurless, 81, of Wren, died at 11:08 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born November 6, 1930, in Lima, the daughter of the late Clarence Shirkey and Margaret (Camper) Hale. On November 18, 1957, she married Gerald Wilson “Shag” Hurless, who preceded her in death on February 27, 1995.

Survivors include four daughters, Jodi (Nick) Metzger III of Thorntown, Ind., Karen (Terry) Biberstine of Convoy, Della Jean (Paul) Dangler of Van Wert and Colleen Grunden of Ohio City; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A son-in-law, James Grunden; and one brother, Lowell Shirkey, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery in Willshire Township, Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at the funeral home.
