City house fire

The Van Wert Fire Department battled a fire at a house located at 235 W. Second St. about 4:30 this morning and quickly had the second-story blaze (above)  under control. No information was available on the extent of the damage, and whether there was anyone home at the time of the fire. The Van Wert Police Department provided traffic control while the Van Wert County Chapter of the American Red Cross was also at the scene. (Dave Mosier/Van Wert independent)
