Albert Ellsworth Anderson

Albert Ellsworth Anderson, 98, of Van Wert, died at 1:05 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

He was born October 28, 1913, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Cora B. (Anderson) Jenkins. His grandparents, Jordan S. and Icadora A. Anderson, raised him. He first married Dorothy Elizabeth (Yoh) Anderson, who preceded him in death on May 3, 1968. On August 25, 1972, he married Ernestine Maude (Gallapoo) Anderson, who died February 25, 2000.

Survivors include a stepson, Randall (Cynthia) Gardner of Convoy; one grandson; three stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and six sisters, Velma Geisman, Florine Ruskaup, Helen Eberle, and Betty Lewis, all of Van Wert, Josephine Tindall of Frankfort, Ind., and Alberta Welker of Marietta.

A daughter, Janet Louise Cripe; her husband, Ken Devon Cripe; four brothers, Roger E. Jenkins, Carol Jenkins and two brothers who died in infancy; and a sister, who died in infancy, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Bill Hardy officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.
