As the final quarter of the 2011-12 school year continues, Crestview students work hard to finish the year on a positive note.

The junior class had a very eventful week. They had the opportunity to job shadow a person doing a job that they may be interested in for the future. Junior Mariah Henry said, “It was very fun job shadowing Kendra at Taylor Chiropractic. It influenced my decision as to what I want to do once I graduate high school.” Juniors are also putting the finishing touches on prom that will take place on Saturday April 28 at Willow Bend Country Club in Van Wert.

Many sports teams are competing this weekend including the JV and Varsity softball teams battling Kalida tomorrow. The Varsity baseball team heads to Continental. All three of these events begin at 5 p.m. On Saturday, the eighth grade softball team plays a double-header against Van Wert, JV baseball plays Parkway, JV and varsity softball play St. Mary’s High School.

FCCLA members are holding elections for officers of the 2012-2013 group. Members are able to nominate either themselves or another person to take office. SADD members are beginning their busiest week of the year as next week is prom week. Members are planning activities such as the Safety Bug, candy with inspirational messages being placed in students’ lockers and handing out prom t-shirts to ensure that prom-goers make smart decisions on prom night. Preparations are also being made for the mock crash taking place at school the Friday before prom. Senior Madison Etzler said, “I am looking forward to informing students about the effects of drinking and driving, especially on prom night.”
