Mary Pohlman
Mary Pohlman, 92, of Van Wert, died at 7:41 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born December 1, 1919, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Lehr and Norma (Stemen) McCracken. On April 25, 1946, she married James “Jim” Pohlman, who also preceded her in death on May 14, 2009.
Mary had been an employee of Triple A (farm office), Stroup and Walters Law Office (worked mostly with Sumner J. Walters) from 1937-1980 and Van Wert Municipal Court from 1980-1987. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a former member of the Golden Oldies, Van Wert County Farm Bureau and Pi Rho Zeta Society.
Survivors include a sister, Ruth Stewart of Van Wert; and many nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Donald and William McCracken; and a sister, Claribel DuVall, also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 20, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Stanley Szybka officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a Rosary service will be held following visitation.
