County Fair photo categories set

The Wassenberg Camera Club invites the public to bring their questions about photography, or their equipment, to the club’s next meeting, Thursday, April 26, at 7 p.m. at the Wassenberg Art Center.

Club members will be matched with participants who also use similar equipment to provide a maximum pool of information. Should a question arise that requires more information than is available, it will be researched on the Internet with the club’s laptop. With this back-up plan in place, you are just about guaranteed to have your questions answered, so mark April 26 at 7 p.m. on your calendars.

Area photographers should note that category decisions have been made regarding the this year’s county fair photography exhibit. They are: Around the Fair, Landscape, Fresh Produce, In the Air, and Dolls. Pictures 8×10 in color or black and white may be entered, but each image must be different from the others. (That is, a color picture cannot be changed to a black and white and also entered.) There are several Van Wert area activities scheduled in the coming months that should provide some great opportunities to capture some of these shots so keep your ears and eyes open for these functions. A good resource is our local Convention and Visitors Bureau and local web sites.

The club’s Discount Cards, which are good till April 1 of 2013, continue to be for sale for $5 from club members and at the Wassenberg Art Center. There are 13 businesses in Van Wert, two each in Delphos and Celina and one each in Ohio City, Lima, and Wapakoneta that are offering free or reduced prices on their goods or services.  For more information, or cards, contact the club’s secretary at 419.238.4545, or the Art Center at 419.238.6837.
