Tickets still available for United Way event

Tickets are still available for the United Way Cinco de Mayo fundraising event on Friday, May 4, at Willow Bend Country Club.  Several corporate tables have been purchased but there are still a few available for $250, while individual tickets are $25 apiece.

The ticket price includes a Mexican buffet and two drinks, a choice of either margaritas or Mexican beer.  Ticket purchasers do not need to be a member of Willow Bend to attend.

“Many businesses have donated door prizes and raffle items for the evening,” said Committee Chair Lisa Lawson of Citizens National Bank. “We have some really nice items that people can purchase raffle tickets for and we will also have a silent auction.

“We are very excited for this event,” Lawson added. “It is the first one that we know of celebrating Cinco de Mayo, even though it is a day before on May 4.”

One of the big items up for raffle is a frozen Margarita machine, which has a retail value of $329. Those who purchase a ticket for a “special margarita” are automatically entered in the raffle.
