Mock crash

It began with squealing tires, the screech of brakes and the sound of metal being twisted and smashed. Crestview High School’s mock crash held Friday was a sobering portrayal of what can happen when alcohol and driving mix on Prom Night. The students who watched — and even some of those involved in the event — were emotionally caught up in the dramatic portrayal (above) held in a school parking lot. One student, Taylor Springer (at right), even cried as she read a piece about a girl who doesn’t want to die at 17 after an alcohol-related car crash.
