Avis Mae Miller, 96, of Paulding, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Gardens of Paulding.

She was born April 28, 1916, in Jackson Township, Paulding County, the daughter of the late Frank and Katie (Coder) Horner. On August 14, 1934, she married Ralph T. Miller, who preceded her in death on April 5, 2005.

She was employed at the G.C. Murphy store in Defiance as a cashier. She was a member of Junction Bible Church and avid Jeff Gordon/NASCAR fan.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Donna Miller of Paulding; three grandchildren, Roger (Shelly) Miller of Convoy, David (Janice) Miller of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Karen (Denny) McVay of Paulding; ; six great-grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Jordan, Courtney, Marcus and Joseph; and three great-great-grandchildren, Mckenna, Aubree and Brady.

A son, Everett Miller; and a sister, Alys Fockler, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, with Pastor Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Paulding County.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
