Darrell DeWayne Day

Darrell DeWayne Day, 48, of Van Wert, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born June 26, 1963, in Sidney, the son of Sylvia (Stokes) Davis, who survives in Van Wert, and Odis Day, who survives in Sidney.

Other survivors include his stepfather, Dennis Davis of Van Wert; his stepmother, Irene Day of Sidney; two brothers, Darrin Day and Dalan Day of Sidney; a sister, Denesa Goings of Sidney; one stepbrother, Frank Shields of Sidney; a stepsister, Tammy Shields of Sidney; a special family friend, Penny Wiles of Van Wert; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Bob McCann officiating. In interment service will be held at Miami Memorial Cemetery near Covington at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5.

Calling hours are from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
